What does Vidare actually charge for?
For clearance and cleaning you get a fixed price in writing before we start. Our fixed fee for the home is one line in the price proposal, Vidare's work: going through your documents, valuing the contents of the home, contracts and powers of attorney, cancellations, one point of contact, the app and the final settlement (slutavräkning). If we sell personal belongings, our fee is 5 percent of what is paid into the estate's account, at least 1 500 kr and at most 4 000 kr including VAT, and never more than 20 percent of what is paid in. It is shown openly in the final settlement. If we recommend an estate agent, we receive no payment from the agent at present. You always choose the agent freely. The estate inventory (bouppteckning) has its own fixed price and can be ordered on its own.
What does the first call cost?
Nothing. We work out the price from your film of the home and your answers in the app. If none of you can film, we come to the home free of charge, in the Mälardalen region. You decide only once you have a price in writing and know what is included.
Do we need to know what help we need?
No. Start by telling us what you know. Together we go through what you want to do yourselves and what you want help with.
Do all the heirs to the estate have to agree?
You can make the first contact on your own. Before an assignment starts, the heirs approve the scope and price digitally, so that everyone gets the same information.
What happens to things that mean something?
They are photographed and set aside first. You decide what is kept, donated or sold before the home is emptied. We never buy anything from the estate.
Can everything be sold at once?
Yes, the estate can sell everything to a single buyer who takes it all. We never buy anything ourselves, but we are happy to go through an offer with you. All the heirs need to agree, the money must be paid into the estate's account before anything is collected, and an offer is the buyer's price, not a valuation.
How you pay
Invoice 1 is the fixed price for clearance and cleaning. It is paid before the work, and the clearance is booked once it is paid.
Our own work, the estate inventory and the fee for personal belongings are invoiced at the final settlement, after your approval. Below 15 000 kr, everything is invoiced at the final settlement.
No heir becomes personally liable for payment by signing. The invoices are made out to the estate. If an heir pays with their own money, it is voluntary and is booked as a claim against the estate.
Many banks pay invoices made out to the estate from the estate's account on request, even before the estate inventory is registered. Nothing is paid automatically.
Clearance and cleaning have no priority. The funeral and the estate inventory are paid first.
A home visit in the Mälardalen region costs nothing. The film in the app is the standard way.
All heirs sign, with BankID or, for anyone without BankID, with a code sent by email.
What happens if the estate has no money?
You do not need to know this before you get in touch. We go through the situation with you free of charge before you decide. If the money only covers the funeral and the estate owns no property, the municipality can make an estate notification (dödsboanmälan) instead of an estate inventory. You then call the social services office, and the home must be left untouched until the municipality has been there, so we book no clearance before their visit. If it becomes an estate notification, we do not charge for our work. We do not run a credit check on you, and none of you needs to act as guarantor.
Can the price change during the work?
The price for what you have chosen does not change without your yes. The price covers what the film and the answers showed. If something significant is not shown, for example a cellar, a storage room or a garage, you get a new price to say yes or no to, never a silent surcharge. If the estate inventory is included and it turns out that there is a will, assets abroad, a business, or a dispute between heirs, you get a new price in writing for the estate inventory, and nothing more is done with it until you have approved it. If you say no, that part of the assignment ends, and you pay nothing for the work we have already done on the estate inventory.
Can we change our minds?
Yes, 14 days from signing. The distance contracts act (lagen om distansavtal) gives a right of withdrawal to private individuals, not to estates, so for an estate it is a voluntary commitment from us. If you want us to start during the withdrawal period, this happens at your express request, and if you withdraw, you pay only for what has been carried out.
We live in different places, does that work?
Yes. One contact person holds everything together, and all heirs see the same status and weekly update in the family's case.
Are a lawyer and an estate agent included in the price?
Vidare's support with the sale is included. The agent's fee is paid by the estate, and the division of the inheritance (arvskifte) is not included in any of the packages. If a legal assessment is needed, we bring in a lawyer on a separate quote, and nothing is done until you have approved it.
Does the RUT tax deduction apply?
No. According to Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency), RUT does not apply to work in estates. Be careful with prices stated “after RUT”, they do not apply to your situation.
How quickly can you start?
We call you back within two hours, every day 09 to 18. If you get in touch after 16, we call the next day before 11. The film takes ten minutes, and the price arrives within two working days after we have gone through your film and answers. The home is secured in the first week after the price is approved.
