We go through the documents, arrange the summons, explain who is allowed to be an estate inventory official, prepare the estate inventory (bouppteckning) and check that everything is complete before we file it.

Short answer
The price
4 900 kr, including VAT, a fixed price for a normal estate. You provide the details, order a few statements from banks, insurers and authorities using our list, and sign. We do the rest. Any additions requested by Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency) are included. You appoint the estate inventory officials yourselves, and we explain who is allowed to be one.
The time
The inventory meeting within three months of the death, filing within one month after that. Skatteverket's waiting time was about ten weeks when we checked on 5 October 2026.

What is included, and not

Included

  • Death certificate with a record of relatives (släktutredning)
  • Name, place of residence and personal identity number or coordination number for everyone who is to be summoned, otherwise date of birth (a requirement in the Swedish Inheritance Code from 1 July 2026)
  • A list of exactly which statements you order from banks, insurers and authorities, and we go through them for you
  • Summons to all heirs, surviving spouses or partners, and subsequent heirs
  • The inventory meeting, where you have appointed two estate inventory officials who have no share in the estate
  • Filing with Skatteverket in the right order, with the will, proof of summons and powers of attorney

Not included

  • Distribution of the inheritance and division of marital property, which you or a lawyer do
  • Wills, interpretation and disputes
  • Individual legal advice. For complex estates we bring in a lawyer separately

How it works

Documents, summons, the inventory meeting within three months, filing within one month, registration. The deadlines, who is to be summoned and what happens if something goes wrong have an article of their own, so we do not repeat it here.

Who is responsible

ResponsibilityWe prepare the estate inventory. The person who has the deceased's property in their care, usually one of you, decides the time and place of the inventory meeting and appoints the two estate inventory officials. They can be a friend or a neighbour, for example. Neither of them may be a co-owner of the estate (an heir or the surviving spouse or partner) or represent one. We explain who is allowed to be one, summon everyone to the meeting, hold it and file the estate inventory.
How we reduce the risksWe check the documents before filing. If Skatteverket still asks for an addition, we handle it. Everything else runs in parallel while Skatteverket's queue moves, so the waiting time is not wasted.

Common questions

What does it cost if the estate is complicated?

The fixed price of 4 900 kr including VAT applies to a normal estate. If it turns out that there is a will, assets abroad, a business or a dispute between heirs, you get a new price in writing, and nothing more is done until you have approved it. If you say no, the assignment ends, and you pay nothing for the work we have already done. If a legal assessment is needed, we bring in a lawyer after a separate quote.

Do we have to attend the inventory meeting?

Only one of you needs to attend the meeting, and by phone or video is fine. The one of you who knows the estate best becomes the person who gives the information (bouppgivare): they tell us which assets and debts there were and sign the estate inventory. The others are summoned but do not need to come. We arrange proof of summons.

Can you do only the estate inventory?

Yes. It can be ordered on its own, without clearing or sale, and then 4 900 kr is the whole price. Vidare's work on the home is added only when we take care of the home.

Do you do the distribution of the inheritance too?

No. The heirs do the distribution themselves or with a lawyer. We hand over a registered estate inventory and clear documentation.
