- The mapping starts when the power of attorney is signed. A rental flat is cancelled within one month of the death if no one will stay on. Home insurance and electricity are cancelled last of all, once the home has been handed over.
What is included, and what is not
Included
- Mapping through account statements and forwarded mail
- Cancellation in the estate's name, with the death certificate and power of attorney
- The rental contract within one month, so that a one-month notice period applies. If someone stays on, we first look at whether they can take over the contract
- The supplier's confirmation of each cancellation, archived in your file
Not included
- Paying debts. Many banks pay ongoing bills from the estate's account before registration, on request, and other debts are paid from the estate after the estate inventory (bouppteckning)
- Negotiating binding periods. A death is normally grounds for ending a contract without a notice period
- Pensions and insurance payouts, which the family or the bank applies for

Common questions
Do all the heirs need to sign the power of attorney?
Yes. The power of attorney is part of the agreement and is signed by all the heirs, with BankID or, for anyone without a Swedish BankID, with a code sent by email. Some counterparties, such as banks, require a separate original power of attorney. We prepare it and help you get it signed. After that we handle each cancellation in the estate's name.
What happens if an invoice arrives after a contract has ended?
We check which period the invoice covers against the supplier's confirmation, which is archived in your case. If it covers time after the contract ended, we dispute that part.
Is the notice to a landlord included?
Yes, the letter is included. We write the notice, you sign it and send it. If it reaches the landlord within one month of the death, a one-month notice period applies. If a spouse, partner or someone else stays on in the flat, we first go through whether the contract should be taken over instead.
Does it cost extra per contract?
No. Mapping and cancellations are included in the basic fee, however many contracts the estate has.
