A guide price, not a quote. A fixed price in writing after we have gone through your film and answers. Others offset the belongings against the clearing without showing the value. We sell them openly and the proceeds go straight to the estate. The fee for the sale is 5 %, at least 1 500 kr and at most 4 000 kr including VAT, and is invoiced separately. Estate agent fees, division of the estate and special waste are not included, and the RUT tax deduction does not apply to estates. Payment in two parts: clearing and cleaning when the agreement is signed, Vidare's work at the final statement. Details on the prices page.
Questions about the cost
What does it cost to take care of an estate in full?
It depends on the size of the home, the amount of belongings and which parts you want help with. The calculator above gives a guide price for your situation, and you receive the fixed price in writing before anything starts. The value of what is sold from the estate is credited to the estate and lowers the net cost.
Who pays the cost of the estate?
The estate itself. The cost is taken from the estate's assets before the inheritance is divided, just like the funeral cost. The heirs do not normally have to pay anything out of their own pocket.
Why is the calculator's figure only a guide price?
The price is driven by things that show in the film or in the home: the amount of belongings, access, basement and storage rooms, and the need for cleaning. That is why the real price is set as a fixed price in writing after we have gone through your film and answers, and it does not change without your yes. If the estate inventory (bouppteckning) is included and it turns out that there is a will, assets abroad, a business or a dispute between heirs, you receive a new price in writing for the estate inventory, and nothing more is done with it until you have approved it. If you say no, that part of the assignment ends, and you pay nothing for the work we have already done on the estate inventory.
Is it cheaper to hire firms separately?
Sometimes, if you have time to call around, compare and coordinate the firms yourselves. With us you get a fixed price in writing for everything and one contact throughout the assignment.
Is it not free if a company buys the whole estate?
It can turn out that way, and the difference from us is who sets the value of the belongings. The buyer values them and offsets that value against its clearing cost: if the value is higher you get the difference, if it is lower you pay it. With us the estate pays a fixed price and the belongings are sold openly, where you see every price. The money from the sale is paid straight into the estate's account, after the auction house's own fees, which show on its statement. Our fee for the sale, vehicles included, is 5 percent of what is paid into the estate account, at least 1 500 kr and at most 4 000 kr including VAT, and never more than 20 percent of what is paid in. It is not deducted from the proceeds, it is invoiced separately in the final statement. Example: clearing and cleaning cost 20 000 kr and the belongings are worth 15 000 kr. The buyer takes 5 000 kr, or 0 kr if the belongings are valued at 20 000 kr. With us the estate pays a net 6 500 kr (20 000 kr minus 15 000 kr in sale proceeds plus our fee of 1 500 kr), before the auction house's fees, and you have a receipt for every sale. You are welcome to get both alternatives before you decide.
What happens to the belongings that have value?
They are valued and sold on behalf of the estate. Vidare never buys anything from the estate: the sale is reported openly.
